The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on Prime Video soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

The first season introduces a diverse group of characters living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by songs detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't produce the show with fan service as the main goal," the showrunner stated recently. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they could be shocked at how quickly the new season progresses, and how much of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some fascinating backstories, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — especially in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed some of them, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
