Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 cars have been covered with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Vehicles, walls and postal boxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement state they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued fluid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then found multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say early analysis suggest the liquid was most likely human blood.
"There is still no indication as to its source; officials are currently not cognizant of any harm in connection with the occurrence," they commented.
City officials stated they were trying "to unravel the incident" and have asked to the community for details.
An important political figure stated the incident rendered him stunned and required to be solved promptly.
"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he stated on a platform, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter aiming at people of migrant background in 2020.
